A Day in Japan (Pic-Heavy)

Hi everyone!
I'm finally back from Korea and Japan~

I apologize for the lack of updates as I had no access to the internet during the majority of my trip >: I also apologize for not telling you guys in advance, because I literally found out like three days before the trip e _ e I'll be posting some reviews soon, but for now, I'd like to talk about Japan!!

I went to Japan for only one day, as my parents were really paranoid about eating the food there...they heard that the water and seafood weren't safe because of radiation so it was kind of a bummer that I was there for only 5 hours = _ =

All the photos taken in this post (and the majority of the upcoming posts) are with an iPad2!! I never thought that the quality would be so exceptional ; u ; I lost/forgot my camera at home in the US, so I had to use an iPad or my phone u n u;;

My mother, brother, and I arrived at Narita airport and since we only had 5 hours to spend in Japan, we decided to wander nearby the airport. We took a train to Narita station and from there, we walked around town into Narita temple. It was really beautiful, and I think it's a lot prettier than the Korean temples I saw (though the buddhas and demons are a lot scarier LOL).

After the temple, it was lunchtime and I wanted to go to the famous Ramen Bayashi but the owner had to go somewhere for three days...just my luck : ^ ) It was alright though because we just went back to the airport and got ramen there LOL

This is Ramen Kagetsu Arashi's shio ramen at the airport. It was really good as the soup was hot, oily, and salty e u e It will totally bust your diet LOL. I'm not a food critic or anything, but I definitely recommend Ramen Kagetsu Arashi to any ramen lover! * u *The only downside is that the portion may be a little small for some people, but since my mom and I tend to eat smaller portions, we shared one bowl together.

After eating, we browsed the shops.

These Hello Kitty figurines are so cute, aren't they? ; u ;

I took this photo just so I can rub it in the boyfriend's face LMAO ;; If he was 12 years old again, he'd be drooling over these e u e He's such a nerd--

Am I the only one who found these to be super scary? Like when I walked past, a bunch of people were saying how beautiful they were...wat.

I think these were really pretty, though! (Though still a bit creepy.)

Sooo pretty * u *

Then we passed by the Akihabara themed store and my inner anime fan just exploded ♥ u ♥

I really wanted to get this weird Miku shirt for my friend but it was like $30 for a T-shirt LOL

I finally got to try these green tea Kit-Kats!! I don't know how long I've been wanting to try these as I love pretty much every green tea flavored thing that exists~ It was super expensive though, because it sold for 128 yen for one pack (which is like three sticks) e _ e A lot of the stuff in Japan is overpriced tbh LOL (or maybe it's just because they were being sold in the airport? Airport stuff is always overpriced ; u ;)
I got one Uji Matcha pack and a Sakura Matcha pack. The Sakura Matcha chocolates are slightly sweeter than the Uji Matcha, but they sold for the same price. I wasn't able to take photos of the packaging or chocolates, but the Sakura Matcha box was really pretty! It was pink with sakura flowers, and the wafer part of the chocolates were slightly pink.

Welp. That's it! See you guys soon~ Thank you for reading, as always ^ u ^ xoxo

  1. omg japan is such a nice place. I always wanted to go there but my parents think that it's too expensive there ;O; The temple in which you were looks so anime lol. The anime shop is awesome (the Free poster *Q* ) Did you buy the t shirt for you friend or was it too pricey? I would have probably bought the whole shop LOL You should post something about the time you were in korea too! I would be so interested in that :3

  7. Waah I'm so jealous, I'm hungry too now ._. I'd love to visit Japan and Korea one day, but I think if I did I would loose all my money so quickly since I just want to buy everything and eat all the food aha^-^ x

  8. LOL Yeah, it really is expensive, but the really unique experience you get from it is worth it! How does a temple look anime, though > u < I've never really watched any anime with a temple in it, and temples are extremely common in Asia. I've visited around 4-5 temples in Korea haha o u o I didn't buy the T-shirt for my friend because it was too pricey, but I'm sure that if I had bought it for him he would've laughed ^ u ^ Please wait for my next posts, as they will be about Korea! Thank you for reading Mindy <3

  9. I'll never forget the taste of that ramen * u * I could eat it everyday (if it weren't for the oils and fats LOL). Though airport stuff is expensive, it isn't a match for stuff at theme parks! When I went to Hershey Park PA recently, one bottle of water was $5!! o _ o Also, I will be posting about my trip to Korea soon!~ Thank you so much for reading~

  11. IKR!? When I first started taking pictures with the iPad2, I was a bit skeptical because I thought it wouldn't be high enough quality for my blog, but it's actually compareable to my old camera! And aw, I hope you go to Japan soon LOL ; u ; I've tried looking for the green tea Kit-Kats at the Mitsuwa near NY, but it's always sold out T n T I really am lucky to have tried this! Thank you for reading <3

  13. There were three more ponds at the Narita temple, and each one of them were full of turtles! There was even one turtle that had its shell painted red and had a kanji character on its back > u < It was so cute, it was like the mascot of Narita temple LOL Is Benimo sweet potato? I'd like to try all the Kit-Kat flavors some time! I've heard that there's a wasabi flavor as well (that I'm a bit scared to try). Thank you for reading <3

  30. I recommend you visit Korea if you want to stock up on makeup and skin care supplies, but if you want to see some beautiful scenery and culturally rich places, I recommend Japan! I mean, Korea is also culturally rich, but I feel like Japan appreciates their tradition more. Plus, the people in Japan are very kind and considerate as opposed to the people in Korea. Most of the people don't have an understanding of manners when they're on the street (though they are quite polite when you talk to them). Thank you for reading and hope you make a good decision!
